Simplifying a Digital Training Platform: A Case in Clarity

This week, I worked with a long-time educator who runs a movement-based training programme. Her online system had grown over the years — new pages, old campaigns, duplicate content, and a maze of registration forms. It was a classic case of expansion without consolidation.

Our shared goal: make everything simple again.
When a platform has too many moving parts, even brilliant offers can get lost.

Step 1: Centralise and Protect the Media Library

The client had thousands of photos and videos across multiple folders and cloud platforms.
Our first move was to create a single, consent-cleared library — easy to access, safely shared, and ready for future marketing and course updates.

Step 2: Clarify the Website Structure

Old landing pages from previous years were still showing up in Google searches. Visitors were arriving at outdated versions of the site.
What I suggested as next steps:

  • Consolidate duplicate pages.
  • Redirect traffic to the current home page.
  • Simplify navigation into three clear categories that reflected the brand’s main offerings.

This approach ensures anyone landing on the site immediately understands what’s available and where to go next.

Step 3: Simplify the Enrollment Flow

The original setup required participants to fill out a registration form first and wait for a payment link by email — a process that caused drop-offs.
I suggested we flip the order: payment first, registration second.
Now, as soon as someone pays, they’re automatically added to the right event or course through Kajabi automation.

Step 4: Add a “Peek Inside” Experience

Many potential students wanted to see what the online programme looked like before purchasing.
We decided to create a short walkthrough video — a simple screen recording that shows the dashboard, lessons, and real course environment.
This small addition builds trust and boosts conversions without adding new tech.

Step 5: Build the Follow-Up System

With the website and pages streamlined, the next phase is automation:

  • A 5–7 email sequence for leads who expressed interest but haven’t enrolled yet.
  • A monthly newsletter for the wider community, keeping them engaged with updates and new opportunities.

Each flow has a purpose — one sells, one nurtures.

The Takeaway

Growth naturally creates complexity. But clarity always converts better than volume.
By simplifying systems, tightening structure, and removing friction, we make it easier for clients — and their customers — to say yes.

As I often remind my clients:

“You don’t always need more features. You need more focus.”
